Happy Monday everyone! I hope your weekend was spectacular. My Saturday was spent at blogger prom celebrating the lovely wedding of my girl, Jen, to her soul mate. It was a wonderful day/evening spent laughing, crying, drinking and dancing. Did I mention drinking? Whew. Nothing like a really good Saturday to leave me not at my best for Sunday. I was all about comfort and relaxation! (So much so that I almost didn't get out of my PJs)

What I wore:

dress - Ann Taylor Factory
belt - H&M
bracelets - Kate Spade
feather earrings - Forever 21
hat - Banana Republic Factory Store

A long, easy maxi dress was perfect for a relaxing Sunday. I was able to kick off my sandals with no one noticing. Well, until we came inside and I hopped up on the bar. I love myself a perch - it's the only time I'm taller than everyone.

What we drank:
Berry Pom Ginger Sparklers

This week I made a non- alcoholic cocktails. Whether you're entertaining and need a fun option without alcohol or just something refreshing for a mid-afternoon sip, this is a great option.

I threw this together with no real recipe.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add a few quartered berries (I used strawberries). Throw in a dash of Honey-Ginger syrup, pomegranate juice and a squeeze of lime. Shake. Pour (I was too lazy to strain) into an ice-filled glass and top with sparkling mineral water or club soda. Add a lime wedge.

On the menu:
Grilled bone-in veal chops. lemon steamed broccoli and portabello mushroom ravioli (tossed w/ shallots, olive oil, red pepper and blue cheese)
Dinner was done in 15 minutes. No joke.

I'd also like to report that the cherries have officially arrived!

I have a love/hate relationship with the cherry tree in our backyard.

shades the entire patio (no umbrella needed)

the cherry drop. -You can't possibly pick them all. They drop. You step on them, they splat on your car.

Last year the tree didn't really produce cherries. It kind of did but they fell to the ground before they could completely ripen. Someone came out and told us it was because of the extremely rainy spring we had. We had the tree sprayed for fungus and it worked! This year they're back.

Very cool that you have a cherry tree! I'm surprised you have any ever because of the birds! We would never get any cherries, just cherry bird poop...

Anyways, love that dress! You are looking quite lovely after the long and eventful day we had!

I don't know what's better, your dress or the veal chops. Both up there on my list of things I love about this post.

Love the dress! Thank you for the non-alcoholic drink options. (please keep them coming) Can't have any alcohol for at least 6 months and am very tired of drinking hot/ice tea! Always love the menu!

Oh, Lilia! You know that "cocktail" is just for you. I hear you're in need of a summer sipper.

I make this mocktail when I want something sweet - orange juice, cranberry, lime, mix in honey or agave and soda water.

I will be stealing this, thanks! said...

loving the non-alcoholic drink option...since I won't be drinking for at least five more months! Also...wanted to let you know, I'm getting a facial this week at the Powder Room at your suggestion (via your blog!). My dermatologists office doesn't do them anymore and I was looking for a new place to go, when I read your blog about their facials. I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks! I'll be doing an entire post soon of all my favorite 'mocktails' since I'm not a girl who can drink alcohol all day (without needing a nap!). Usually 2 and I'm done for. Enjoy your facial, I can't wait to hear all about it.

ps. Did I miss you at the wedding on Sat?
