Get Local & Give Back At Locavore

There's almost nothing I like better then getting local and giving back. Unless it's a splendid wine pairing. Combine the two and I'm all in. This year, one of the events I'm most looking forward to is Locavore benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Ohio Buckeye Chapter.

Join me for a fabulous night of local wine and beer carefully paired with local cuisine at the stunning Windows on the River.

You can order tickets in advance and a limited number will be available at the door.

Event Ticket - $75: Includes wine , beer, chocolate, pastry and hors d'oeuvres pairings and samplings
Patron Ticket - $95: Includes the above pairings along with exclusive champagne tastings and the opportunity to take home a bottle of bubbly.

While sipping and nibbling you can browse and purchase tickets for some fantastic raffle packages and participate in the silent auction. I got a sneak peek of these and some of the items I can't wait to bid on. (hint:Wine & Design!)

There will also be a Blind Wine Pull which is sure to have many surprised in store.

Of course, Locavore is more than just a swanky party. It's a way to connect and recognize those in our community who struggle with MS daily and celebrate the strides they make and the advancements that can be made with the right treatment and funding. Nearly everyone you know, knows someone facing this disease.

Speedskater Adam Riedy {via}

My dear friend, Charlene, is presenting her lifelong best friend, Adam Riedy, with the Individual of Inspiration Award. Adam had been training to make the Olympic Team in speedskating when, at 19, he was diagnosed with MS. At the time he ranked 8th in the world in the sport and this diagnosis dashed his dreams of competing in the 2002 games. He now lives in Brunswick with his wife and children.

This is sure to be a funny, touching and inspiring evening filled with music, dancing and laughter.

All proceeds from this event support research and programs for the over 20, 000 Ohioans suffering from this disease.

Disclosure: I was offered one event ticket c/o The MS Society, Ohio Buckeye Chapter for blogging about this event and for standing by with a box of puffs plus to get Charlene through her speech. I am more than happy to do so and all opinions are my own.
