Get There - Crust Tremont

A slightly chilly and rainy day that follows up glorious 80 degree weather just screams comfort food. Yes, you were grilling on the patio and enjoying some Christmas Ale yesterday. You did not imagine it. But we're back to life as usual in October and I say this calls for little pillows of heaven - gnocchi.

Last Friday, I was too lazy to even think about cooking dinner and heard about this great new place, Crust, on Kenilworth that was a made-from-scratch kitchen serving up pizzas, pasta, salads and subs. We had a bit of a hard time deciding what to order since there were so many great things on the menu. Ultimately we decided on the spanish chorizo pizza (because I cannot resist goat cheese and chorizo - either alone or together) and the mushroom gnocchi.

To my dismay they were out of pizza dough. They were quite polite and very apologetic over the phone and explained how it takes 2 days to make the dough and they had no idea they'd be this busy. We ended up going with 2 orders of gnocchi and you can never go wrong with that.

Mushroom Gnocchi - mixed mushrooms, rosemary, garlic with white truffle oil in a parmesan cream sauce

Butternut Squash Gnocchi - slab bacon, sage and caramelized onion, finished with pumpkinseed oil and an apple cider reduction {hello lover}

This is only about 1/3 of the portion they gave us.

Head on over to the new Crust in Tremont and get your gnocchi on, you won't be disappointed. I promise!
