Recap: 2014 Silver Spoon Awards Party

I've said it before but it bears repeating: The Cleveland Magazine Silver Spoon Awards Party is one of the best events of the year. The strolling food and wine event that brings the magazine's annual Best Restaurant issue to life just celebrated it's 20th anniversary and it was an evening to remember. Fun, food, laughs and cocktails, all to raise money and awareness for The Arthritis Foundation, Great Lakes Region, Northeast Ohio.

It was a gorgeous spring evening at 200 Public Square and I was excited to try as many nibbles as I could. The entire second floor was packed with a sprawling selection of the cities best eats. Favorites of the night included Ginko's spicy tuna chips and Driftwood Catering's deconstructed tuna roll. Lucky's reubens were incredible and Red was giving up great antipasta in the VIP lounge. You can never go wrong with the Blue Point oysters from Blue Point Grille and these were no exception!

A quick trip up the escalator to the third floor found the VIP lounge and this was the perfect place to sit back and relax when it got a bit crowded downstairs. Bottles of prosecco were popped and Society Lounge had set up an eye-catching bar serving up Ramos 'bathtub gin' Fizzes, kegged and carbonated Moscow mules and barrel-aged Woodford Manhattans. The decor was fun and playful and lent itself well to the dance after-party that kicked in at about 9pm. To commemorate the 20th anniversary, all VIP attendees received an etched Silver Spoon rocks glass.

The husband and I met up with some familiar faces and cocktails, laughter and dancing ensued. In other words, a perfectly splendid evening.
