I Joined A Fitness (Challenge) Group

Yep, you read that right. Your girl, who is actually eating champagne gummi bears as she types this, joined a fitness accountability group a few weeks ago.

Who am I?! What is happening? Haha. Not to worry, I'm still your favorite, sarcastic redhead - wine in hand.
But it was time. Time to do something. And if that something comes in the form of telling the world that I signed up for this to motivate me to actually work out, well, so be it.

Two years ago a few medication changes resulted in a 20-pound weight gain that happened in a 3-month span. I managed to work off 10 of those pounds but the remaining 10 have just been lingering and since it's been so long since I've done any type of workout, I've lost all muscle tone as well.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying there is anything wrong with an additional 10 or 20 pounds and if this is you, I'm definitely not saying you need to lose weight. I just have a closet full of beautiful clothes that I miss dearly and would love to get back to.

I've never been consistent with fitness. Clean eating? That's my thing. (Except these stress-related gummi bears that I indulge in maybe once every 6 months.) If I do workout, I prefer yoga or weights and would practically cut off my arm to avoid any type of cardio. I've had gym memberships, ellipticals, cycling passes and the like and hate them all. I hate everything but yoga. So, I'm terrified that I've signed myself up for 6 weeks of misery. But it's only 20 minutes a day!!! I can do anything for 20 minutes, right?

Transform:20 - This guy looks intense! omg

I would never have even thought of doing something like this if it hadn't been for Danielle DeBoe. I follow her on Instagram and have seen her transformation first-hand. We're practically the same age so it's not like someone half my age convincing me I can do this. I'm hoping that having a community of people all starting from (sort of) the same place will motivate us to push through the tough days.

Now, Danielle has stamina that (let me tell you) may not be normal. The 80 Day Obsession? That's her bag! Trying out all kinds of restrictive diets? Oh yeah, she'll do it! Not this girl. So when she started talking about Transform:20 that was only 20 mins a day 6 days a week for 6 weeks, I perked up. Oh, and she'll help me choose a realistic meal plan that will be easy to stick to. (at least that's what I'm telling myself!) There's even a VIP Facebook group set up where we can share tips and recipes. But most importantly, she's concerned with your overall well-being. And one look at her IG account @well_designed_life and that is the prevailing theme. She wants you to feel better, to be better.
And that's what I want too.

The challenge starts January 14th. Go light a candle for me, then have a cocktail. Thanks in advance.
