You know how much I love a cape. I'm not even sure why. I mean, I love a great midi skirt, handbag, pump, and the J. Crew No. 2 pencil skirt. Let's not even talk about how many of those damn skirts I have. But the cape wins out. Every. Single. Time.
The only negative is that you can't wear them in summer - ha!
Cape or poncho? Here are the main differences. A cape:
- has a closure, whether a belt, buttons, or clasp
- typically has a structured silhouette
- is outerwear, with the exception of a blazer cape or dress (which are darling as well)
** Keep in mind that you don't want to pair them with something flowy or too long. Proportion is key. **
Here are some examples of styles and colors that are available at all price ranges. Well, not the $1000 ones - if you have a thousand dollar cape, let's be best friends.
